A course study designed to introduce the concepts of Environmental Engineering particularly dealing with different environmental hazards and pollutants, their types, sources and effects and the corresponding mitigating measures and control methods; environmental quality standards, laws and regulations, in relation to industrial and technological engineering applications.

Furthermore, it aims to provide students with basic scientific and engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies necessary to equip them with knowledge and understanding on interrelationships of the natural world; skills to identify and analyze environmental problems; capability to evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and examine alternative solutions for resolving or preventing them. Emphasis is also placed on their role /contributions to society and their responsibility to the environment as professionals in their respective fields of discipline.
